Job summary
East Jordan Plastics, Inc. in Beaverton, Michigan, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to keep high-speed extrusion and thermoforming production running smoothly.
You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical issues, work with PLCs, sensors, motors, drives, read schematics, and collaborate with production and engineering to solve recurring problems. Qualifications
- Industrial electrical troubleshooting experience required.
- Ability to diagnose equipment problems quickly and accurately.
- Experience with plastics-related equipment a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and electrical knowledge.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical docs.
- Self-motivated with independent work style.
- Desire to own equipment performance and improve processes.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex electrical and mechanical issues on extrusion and thermoforming equipment.
- Work with PLCs, sensors, motors, drives, and control systems to improve reliability.
- Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Analyze equipment performance and implement improvements.
- Read schematics, blueprints, and manuals to guide repairs.
- Collaborate with production and engineering to solve recurring issues.
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain maintenance records and document repairs.

We are seeking a driven technician who enjoys diagnosing tough issues, optimizing equipment performance, and keeping high-speed production running at its best.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex electrical and mechanical issues on extrusion and thermoforming equipment
- Work with PLCs, sensors, motors, drives, and control systems to maintain and improve equipment reliability
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime
- Analyze equipment performance and implement process improvements
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to solve recurring issues
- Respond quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns in a fast‑paced environment
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and document repairs and improvements
- Champion and follow all safety procedures
- Strong industrial electrical troubleshooting experience (480V, controls, PLCs preferred)
- Proven ability to diagnose and solve complex equipment problems under pressure
- Experience in plastics, extrusion, or thermoforming equipment is a strong plus
- Solid mechanical aptitude in addition to electrical skillset
- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation
- Self-motivated problem solver who enjoys working independently and as part of a team
- Desire to take ownership of equipment performance and continuously improve processes
- Ability to stand, walk, and work on concrete floors for extended periods
- Frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, and reaching
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs
- Comfortable working around moving machinery in an industrial environment
