Job summary
East Jordan Plastics, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Production Day Shift Supervisor for our Beaverton, MI facility. You will lead a night-friendly, 12-hour shift, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time production targets while coaching teams and driving improvement on the production floor.
The ideal candidate has 3-5 years as a shift supervisor in manufacturing, with a strong focus on problem solving and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3-5 years’ experience as a Shift Supervisor in manufacturing or similar role.
- Technical experience in thermoforming or injection molding preferred but not required.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts and lead on a fast-paced line.
Responsibilities
- Lead the production team on the Beaverton, MI line with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Coach and develop teams; troubleshoot challenges in real time.
- Oversee nightly operations to meet production targets.
- Complete daily reports on Safety, Quality, Labor, and Delivery.
- Conduct daily 5S, Safety, and LOTO audits and document results.
- Identify resources to resolve issues and communicate with scheduler and leadership.
- Perform shift handoffs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Production Day Shift Supervisor (hourly)
We are seeking a hands-on, results-driven Shift Supervisor to lead our Beaverton, MI production team in a fast-paced plastics manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for overseeing nightly operations, ensuring production targets are met, and maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who thrives on the production floor, enjoys coaching and developing teams, and can effectively troubleshoot challenges in real time. You will play a key role in driving continuous improvement while supporting a positive and accountable work culture during overnight operations.
Essential Functions:- Lead team by demonstrating a commitment to everyone’s safety and ensure safety with all activities.
- Engage the workforce to address on-going issues. Assist with identifying necessary resources to enable the team to resolve those issues or identify interim containment actions until the issue can be resolved.
- Complete daily report focusing on Safety, Quality, Labor, and Delivery.
- Conduct daily audits for Safety, Quality, Labor and Delivery of work zones, 5S compliance, and LOTO compliance. Document audits and submit for record.
- Daily Process/Startup Troubleshooting for quality optimization.
- Monitor progress towards achieving the Production Schedule throughout the shift. Properly identify and communicate any issues to scheduler / senior leadership that will impact achieving shift schedule for corrective measures.
- Daily handoff with peer Supervisor at shift change.
- Proactively provide input / suggestions to improve safety, schedule execution, quality, and / or minimize downtime.
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Strong problem solving.
- Must be able to work 12-hour shifts
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years’ experience as Shift Supervisor in manufacturing or similar role.
- Technical experience in Thermoforming or Injection Molding (preferred, not required).
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, twisting, lifting, reaching, and climbing.
- Able to use hand tools, lift 50lbs, bend, reach, squat, sit, stand, and utilize ladders.
