Job summary

Center Point Healthcare and Rehab in Baton Rouge, LA, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine preventive maintenance, assist with furniture and equipment moves, test equipment and alarms, and support environmental and safety initiatives. The role requires reading blueprints and may involve HVAC, electrical and plumbing tasks in a health-care facility.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and prior maintenance experience; experience in nursing home

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler/chiller operations and blueprints preferred.
• Nursing home experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs floor and building repairs.
• Performs preventative maintenance as assigned.
• Assists with routine testing of equipment, alarms, safety systems and other items required to promote a safe and comfortable environment.
• Completed exterior building maintenance.
• Supports facilities manager in environmental and safety support activities.
• Completes maintenance checks monthly as defined.
• Performs equipment assembly and troubleshooting as required.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for routine preventative maintenance, assistance with furniture and equipment moves, routine testing of equipment, alarms, and gauges, landscape care and support to the Maintenance Director in environmental and safety support activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous maintenance experience preferred
• Some experience in air conditions, heating, ventilating, electrical, and plumbing, boiler and chiller operations, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics preferred.
• Nursing home experience preferred

Duties
