Job summary

Center Point Healthcare and Rehab in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine preventive maintenance, assist with furniture moves, and support safety and environmental tasks.

The role requires a high school diploma and prior maintenance experience; knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing is preferred, with nursing home experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Assist with moving furniture and equipment.
• Test equipment, alarms, gauges; support safety programs.
• Conduct exterior building maintenance.
• Support facilities manager with environmental and safety tasks.
• Complete monthly maintenance checks.
• Troubleshoot equipment as needed.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for routine preventative maintenance, assistance with furniture and equipment moves, routine testing of equipment, alarms, and gauges, landscape care and support to the Maintenance Director in environmental and safety support activities.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous maintenance experience preferred
• Some experience in air conditions, heating, ventilating, electrical, and plumbing, boiler and chiller operations, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics preferred.
• Nursing home experience preferred

Duties:

• Performs floor and building repairs
• Performs preventative maintenance as assigned
• Assists with routine testing of equipment, alarms, safety systems and other items required to promote a safe and comfortable environment.
• Completed exterior building maintenance
• Supports facilities manager in environmental and safety support activities
• Completes maintenance checks and longs monthly as defined
• Performs equipment assembly and troubleshooting as required.
