Job summary

Central Florida Health Care is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform diversified duties across building systems, troubleshoot and repair equipment, and support safety and productive maintenance programs at our Avon Park facilities.

The role involves routine carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing work, and reconfiguring modular spaces, with emphasis on safety, uptime, and quality workmanship. Strong reading/writing and English fluency are required; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years facility maintenance experience preferred.
• Basic electrical, plumbing and carpentry understanding preferred.
• Experience with hand and power tools.
• Valid driver's license with insurance proof.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect buildings and systems to detect malfunctions and needed repairs.
• Perform minor electrical maintenance: fixtures, switches, outlets, bulbs.
• Perform minor plumbing repairs: leaks, drains, lines.
• Do painting, carpentry and masonry work and pressure cleaning.
• Reconfigure and remount modular offices and spaces for efficiency.
• Prepare surfaces and paint structures to protect materials.
• Order parts and maintain required documents.
• Perform other duties and work flexible hours as needed.
• Read, write, speak, and understand English fluently; strong communication.

POSITION SUMMARY

The maintenance technician positionis responsible forperforming highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot,repairandmaintainbuilding and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenancesystemsand processes to support the achievement of the sites’ goals and objectives. Responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks in one or more fields (e.g.carpentry; electrical; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC); plumbing, etc.).Perform other tasks as assigned.

MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS

RESPONSIBILTIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

1. 1. Inspects buildings and other structures todeterminefunctional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repair making notes and recommendations using a pre‑established check sheet.
2. 2. Performs minor electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g.wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes,LED lights,ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) usingappropriate hand,powerand specialty tools.
3. 3. Performs minor plumbing maintenance (e.g.replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains,trenchingand laying new lines, etc.).
4. 4. Performs minor painting,carpentryand masonry work (e.g.preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles, etc.), and pressure cleaning buildings and walkways.
5. 5. Reconfigures, installs, positions, andremounts’modular offices and space (e.g.furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting, file cabinets, etc.) to accommodate user needs and maximize office space using various hand, power and specialty tools,dolliesand hand trucks
6. 6. Prepares the surfaces and paints various structures and equipment (e.g. walls, floors, roofs, doors, restroom facilities, etc.) to preserve wood and metal parts from corrosion and maintain a safe, comfortable working environment using various painting equipment and related tools (e.g. sprayers, rollers, brushes, thinners, etc.).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
