Job summary

Maloney Properties in Worcester and Auburn, MA is hiring a Maintenance Technician for a full-time position across a large residential portfolio. You will perform in-unit repairs, preventative maintenance, and prepare apartments for new residents, supporting a team of maintenance professionals.

The role requires carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC skills, plus basic computer use and familiarity with Yardi work orders. A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are required.

Qualifications

• Experience with apartment repairs and building maintenance.

• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
• Basic computer skills; familiarity with Yardi is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performing in-unit repairs, preventative maintenance, and preparing apartments for new resident occupancy.
• Completing work orders, including light electrical, plumbing, carpentry, appliance repair, and general building maintenance.
• Providing access to and supervising contractors as needed.
• Performing groundskeeping and maintenance of exterior and common areas.
• Updating Yardi and informing managers of ongoing projects at the sites.

Your Responsibilities

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team in the Worcester area. This is a full-time opportunity at a large portfolio of residential properties. You will join a team of maintenance professionals whose duties and responsibilities include:

• Performing in-unit repairs, preventative maintenance, and preparing apartments for new resident occupancy.
• Completing work orders, including light electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work, appliance repair, and general building maintenance.
• Providing access to and supervising contractors as needed.
• Performing groundskeeping and maintenance of exterior and common areas.
• Updating Yardi and keeping managers informed of ongoing projects of the sites.

The work hours are 7:00am-3:00pm, Monday-Friday, with on-call duties shared on rotation. Your workweek will be split between two properties in Berlin and Auburn, MA. You will support other properties in the portfolio as needed.

Skills & Requirements

Your Qualifications

We are looking for a team player with excellent communication skills and a strong customer service philosophy.

• Knowledge of general apartment repair and experience with carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC work is required.
• Basic computer and smartphone skills are required; experience with Yardi or other work order systems is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are required.
