Job summary

Maloney Properties is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Cambridge, MA. This full-time role involves in-unit repairs, preventative maintenance, and preparing apartments for new residents.

You will handle light electrical, plumbing, carpentry, appliance repair, and overall building upkeep. Ideal candidates have knowledge of general apartment repair, HVAC, and must possess a valid driver's license with access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-unit repairs and preventative maintenance; prepare apartments for new occupancy.
• Complete work orders including light electrical, plumbing, carpentry, appliance repair and general maintenance.
• Provide access to and supervise contractors as needed.
• Perform groundskeeping and exterior/common area maintenance.
• Update Yardi and keep managers informed on site projects.

Your Responsibilities

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team in Cambridge, MA. This is a full-time opportunity at a large portfolio of residential properties. You will join a team of maintenance professionals whose duties and responsibilities include:

• Performing in-unit repairs, preventative maintenance, and preparing apartments for new resident occupancy.
• Completing work orders, including light electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work, appliance repair, and general building maintenance.
• Providing access to and supervising contractors as needed.
• Performing groundskeeping and maintenance of exterior and common areas.
• Updating Yardi and keeping managers informed of ongoing projects of the sites.

The work hours are 8:30am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday, with on-call duties shared on rotation.

Skills & Requirements

Your Qualifications

We are looking for a team player with excellent communication skills and a strong customer service philosophy.

• Knowledge of general apartment repair and experience with carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC work is required.
• Experience with Yardi or other work order systems is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are required.

Pay Range: $26.00 to $31.00 per hour depending on previous experience.
