Job summary

Pfefferle Management is Wisconsin's leading commercial property manager. We seek a maintenance technician to care for both commercial and residential properties, performing carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical repairs, and preventive maintenance to ensure safe, reliable facilities.

You will operate HVAC systems, manage inventory, supervise contractor work, and assist with life-safety inspections, while maintaining a professional approach with tenants and vendors.

Qualifications

  • HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems knowledge as part of building maintenance.
  • Experience with building operations and safe work practices.
  • Effective communication with team members.

Responsibilities

  • Perform carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical repairs to keep facilities safe and functional.
  • Carry out routine preventive maintenance.
  • Operate HVAC equipment and related systems.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Follow safety procedures and attend monthly safety meetings.
  • Work within the facility's expense limits.
  • Maintain inventory controls for cost efficiency.
  • Monitor outside contractors for quality and approve completed work.
  • Coordinate state life-safety inspections and tests.
  • Coordinate special projects as directed.
  • Use company-provided cell phone for on-call maintenance.
  • Complete grounds work including litter pickup and landscaping.
  • Report unusual occurrences or property damage.
  • Process payroll.
  • Maintain professional conduct with tenants, vendors, contractors, and colleagues.
  • Ensure safety standards and guidelines are followed.
  • Follow company policies and Employee Handbook.
  • Handle special projects as needed.

Job description

Pfefferle Management is the largest commercial property management provider in Wisconsin. We manage more than two hundred commercial properties and eighty-five residential complexes throughout the state, with over 15 million square feet of real estate under our care and thousands of tenants and owners served.

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for the maintenance of commercial and residential properties some duties include carpeting, painting, drywall repairing, plumbing, repairing building fixtures, and electrical repairing as well as preventive maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities:
  • Carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical repairs to guarantee the facility is proper and safe maintained.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance.
  • Operate heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment and related systems.
  • Maintain a clean working environment.
  • Follows all safety procedures (monthly safety meetings).
  • Work within the expense limits established for the facility.
  • Maintain inventory controls for cost effective operations.
  • Responsible for monitoring all work being performed by outside contractors for quality of workmanship and approval of finished products.
  • Coordinate state required building life safety inspections and tests.
  • Coordinate special projects as directed by the department or property manager.
  • Carry, a company that provides cell phones as required for on-call maintenance.
  • Complete grounds work as directed which may include picking up trash, sweeping curb and dumpster areas and maintaining landscaping beds and other areas.
  • Responsible to let the Department or Property Manager know of any unusual occurrence and/or property damage that may have taken place or that may occur.
  • Complete payroll
  • Maintain a professional courteous manner with all tenants, vendors, contractors, and fellow employees.
  • Assure safety standards are used which comply with all company, local, city, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with all work-related activities in a fair, ethical, and consistent manner.
  • Follow established company policies and those outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Special projects and other responsibilities per skill set determined as needed.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 + Years of experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other building systems or features
  • Communication with team members
Technical Requirements:
  • Ability to use a tablet, smartphone, and computer.
  • Ability to text, email and use payroll.
  • Ability to operate a vehicle in a safe manner.
  • Be proficient with the tools of the jobs.
  • Knowledgeable of how to safely manage tools and equipment when working with electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks while standing for an extended period.
  • Ability to use ladders.
  • Ability to crouch and work overhead.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must pass background criminal check.
  • Must have a clean driving record.
