Job summary

Prairie Vista Village is seeking a dedicated Plant Operations Technician (Maintenance Technician) to join our team in Altoona, IA. This role supports the Plant Operations Director in maintaining the community facility for residents, staff and visitors, including lawn care, painting, remodeling, plumbing and general maintenance.

The position requires basic maintenance skills in plumbing, HVAC, electrical and carpentry, plus a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in basic plumbing, HVAC, electrical and carpentry skills.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Plant Operations Director with maintaining the community facility.
  • Perform lawn care, painting, remodeling and general building maintenance.
  • Repair and service all facility equipment and furnishings as required.
  • Assist with resident transportation as needed and drive residents to appointments.
  • Follow infection control guidelines and safety policies.
  • Attend facility meetings and in-service trainings as assigned.
