Job summary

Iowa Aluminum Inc is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure equipment is maintained and repaired to produce high-quality aluminum products that meet standards. The role involves performing scheduled maintenance on all equipment, fire extinguishers, and eye wash stations, while developing procedures to reduce downtime and adhering to safety protocols.

The technician will document activities, participate in training, and collaborate with the maintenance team to complete repairs promptly.

Position Overview:A Maintenance Technician at Iowa Aluminum is responsible to ensure equipment is maintained and repaired to produce high quality aluminum products that meet or exceed standards.Key Responsibilities:MaintenancePerform scheduled maintenance in all equipment, fire extinguishers, and eye wash stations.Ensure maintenance and repair work is completed correctly in a timely manner.Develop maintenance procedures to reduce equipment downtime.Safety:Follow all safety protocols and wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).Perform the Iowa Aluminum Lock Out/Tag Out program as required.Participate in safety and job training sessions as required.Record Keeping:Document maintenance activities, any issues encountered during the shift and report any deviations or abnormalities.Team Collaboration:Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure repair work is completed correctly in a timely manner.Communicate with Iowa Aluminum Team to keep them updated on repairs as needed.Qualifications:Maintenance/Technical Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and welding.Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal abilities, with a focus on efficient and effective communication.Problem Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Organization Skills: Ability to plan and organize maintenance schedules for repairs and projects.Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift, push, and pull materials weighing up to 100 pounds.
