Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Maintenance Professional in Pennsylvania to lead plant maintenance activities and ensure safe, compliant operations. You will manage environmental systems, coordinate repair strategies, and drive maintenance budgets in collaboration with engineering and operations teams.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in Maintenance or related engineering in a Power Plant, industrial process, or military service.
• Commitment to maintaining safe work practices.
• Strong technical background and understanding of Power Plant equipment and systems with instrument and control focus.
• Ability to utilize predictive maintenance techniques such as thermography, vibration analysis, ultrasound, and tribology.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and/or instrumentation maintenance procedures.
• Able to manage several projects at one time.
• Understanding of maintenance management processes and workflows.
• Able to communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, and subordinates.
• Familiar with multiple maintenance disciplines and interrelationships between equipment mechanical, electrical, and controls.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Experience or formal training in Power Plant operating departments, project management, and maintenance management practices.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe work environment by inspecting job sites and enforcing safety rules and procedures.
• Prioritizes environmental equipment maintenance to ensure permits and procedures compliance.
• Coordinates with Operations Superintendent, Engineering, and Plant Manager to develop repair strategies and schedules.
• Informs employees of work performance standards and expectations.
• Develops budget requests for plant equipment and systems maintenance and capital improvements, with project scope and costs.
• Forecasts department expenses and operates within the budget monthly.
• Responds to emergency calls outside of normal schedule.
• Trains and evaluates employees in tools, maintenance procedures, and safe work practices.
• Assists operating departments in monitoring equipment and determining maintenance scope and timing of repairs.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe work environment. Inspects job sites and reviews maintenance procedures for hazards. Conducts pre-job safety briefs for all assigned work. Informs employees of safety rules and regulations and consistently enforces them


• Places high priority on environmental equipment and systems maintenance to assure compliance with environmental permits and procedures. Emphasizes the commitment to performing all work in compliance with environmental procedures with crafts and contractors


• Coordinate with the Operations Superintendent, Engineering, and Plant Manager to develop effective repair strategies and maintenance schedules


• Informs employees of work performance standards and expectations


• Develop budget requests for plant equipment and systems maintenance and capital improvements. Submit initiatives that define the project purpose, scope, estimated cost and benefits. Follow through with implementation of approved projects


• Control and track department expenses to operate within budget. Forecast expenses on a Monthly basis


• Responds to emergency calls outside of his or her normal work schedule on a regular basis


• Trains and evaluates employees in the proper use of tools, machinery, maintenance procedures and practices, and safe work practices


• Assist operating departments in monitoring equipment and troubleshooting abnormal operating conditions. Determine the appropriate maintenance scope and timing of repairs

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in Maintenance or other related Engineering discipline obtained in a Power Plant similar industrial process or military service


• Understands and committed to maintaining safe work practices


• Strong technical background and understanding of Power Plant equipment and systems and operations with instrument and control background


• Ability to utilize predictive maintenance techniques such as thermography, vibration analysis, ultrasound, and tribology


• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and/or instrumentation maintenance procedures and work practices


• Able to effectively manage several projects at one time


• Understanding of the elements of the maintenance management process


• Able to effectively communicate through a variety of media with supervisors, peers, and subordinates


• Familiar with other maintenance disciplines and understands the relationship between equipment mechanical, electrical, and controls


• Must possess exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills


• Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future
