Job summary

FedEx is offering a part-time position in Kentucky to learn and develop standard preventative maintenance skills, working with an accredited college or trade school program for up to 36 months with evaluation for progression to Technician.

Responsibilities include shadowing Technicians, learning troubleshooting for mechanical, electrical, and control systems, and using the CMMS to log activities. The role may require weekend and rotating shifts, with emphasis on safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required and enrolled in an accredited technical program or state-approved college or technical school.
• No previous experience required.
• Willingness to learn maintenance and machine maintenance and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Learn basic preventive maintenance per FedEx standards and ensure all steps are followed.
• Shadow Technicians and assist with diagnosis of failures and repairs.
• Develop basic troubleshooting for mechanical, electrical and control system problems.
• Learn FedEx operation and troubleshooting techniques for bar code readers, SWAK network components, and dimensioning equipment.
• Use CMMS to enter and retrieve activity logs and reports.
• Adhere to safety standards and promote a safe work environment.
• May work flexible schedules including Saturdays/Sundays and rotating shifts (daytime, midnight, sunrise).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
