Job summary

Maintenance Jobs in Georgia seeks an experienced industrial maintenance technician to ensure continuous operation of production and facility equipment.

You will perform electrical and mechanical maintenance, read schematics, and work with PLCs, hydraulics, and HVAC in a fast-paced manufacturing environment; must be able to work overtime and adhere to safety policies.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with industrial maintenance training.
  • Formal certificates in mechanical, electrical, PLC logic, and preventive maintenance.
  • At least 3 years as an industrial plant electrical technician.
  • Ability to read blueprints and ladder logic diagrams.
  • Knowledge of safety rules and environmental policies.

Responsibilities

  • Follow company rules, procedures and safety standards.
  • Be punctual and able to work overtime and weekends as required.
  • This role does not supervise others.

Job description

Purpose (Why this position exists, within what limits & with what objectives)

the purpose of this position is to provide equipment and facility maintenance support for all Manufacturing Operations. Insure continuous operation of equipment and facilities to protect the companies' investment in capital equipment. Make sure equipment is ready to produce quality products with a consistent performance in scheduled quantities and time.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical equipment and associated controls on production and facility equipment.. Must be able to be at work on time, must be able to follow company rules and procedures, must be able to follow directions from supervisors, must be able to interact in a positive and constructive manner with co-workers, must be able to work overtime and weekends as required. Operator does not supervise others.

Recruiting Criteria (Education and Experience):

A minimum High School Diploma or GED plus formal training and certificate of completion in industrial mechanical, electrical, basic PLC Logic, and preventive maintenance and at least one of the following areas and show a thorough understanding:Machining, Tool and die Making/Repair, Hydraulic systems repair, Boiler plant maintenance, Small tool repair, HVAC repair, Certified in high pressure welding, PLC programming, Air compressor maintenance and repair, Electrician, Pipe Fitting. A minimum of 3 years experience as an industrial plant electrical technician is required

BASIC COMPETENCIES:

  • Ability to troubleshoot, remove and replace three phase devices, such as motors and contactors
  • Troubleshoot Variable Speed Drive systems
  • Ability to read and understand Ladder Logic Diagrams and troubleshoot associated problems
  • Basic first aid and CPR
  • Understanding of the principles behind Single Minute Exchange of Dies
  • Ability to properly repair high pressure valves and feed pumps
  • General knowledge of HVAC and chiller systems
  • Basic understanding of air compressor systems, with basic troubleshooting abilities
  • Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic system and components
  • Basic proficiency in the use of machine equipment:Lathe, Milling Machine, Grinding Equipment
  • Basic understanding of the principles used in progressive dies as well as a basic understanding of press operations
  • Basic understanding of the principles behind resistance spot welding and continuous resistance seam welding.
  • Basic proficiency of pipefitting
  • Basic personal computer skills
  • Basic proficiency working with and programming PLC’s
  • Basic knowledge of process control systems and instrumentation, such as temperature and flow transmitters, control valves, and PID control functions.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of non destructive testing (NDT)
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Ability to work unsupervised

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to work throughout the entire facility and grounds. Repetitive pushing, pulling, grasping, reaching, bending, stooping, standing, walking and climbing (ladder and stairs) are required. Lifting from floor to above shoulders height, from table height to shoulders, and from floor to table height is required. Candidate must be able to work in extreme temperatures & humidity (from 115 degrees F - 32 degrees F, 100% relative humidity). They must be able to wear respirators, applicable safety equipment, and all PPE where and when required. They must be able to safely work with hazardous chemicals, acids, and bases. Candidate must be aware of and able to avoid electrical hazards. Able to focus on task and be aware of safety concerns and do high quality work.
