Job summary

Independence Village Waukee is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician for 6:30am-3:00pm. The role oversees daily maintenance across the community, responds to work orders, and performs repairs in housing and common areas.

You will work closely with the Maintenance Director and other staff to keep facilities safe and functional. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and strong handyman abilities across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and related systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in maintenance preferred.
• Good handyman skills; knowledge of plumbing, electrical and carpentry.
• Familiarity with common tools and repair techniques.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Able to perform general maintenance duties including plumbing, carpentry, furniture, electrical and appliance repairs.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily maintenance in resident apartments and throughout the community as assigned.
• Manage daily work orders: assess, assign, and follow up.
• Ensure completed work orders are filed properly in the designated area.
• Analyze mechanical data regarding heat and water problems.
• Perform daily repairs in common areas and assist with pumps, motors, and generators.
