Job summary

Monoflo International seeks a Maintenance Technician for our 24/7 plastic recycling operation. You will maintain extruders, shredders, and separation equipment, performing preventive and repair work to maximize throughput and uptime.

Responsibilities include navigating Erema/Lindner equipment, servicing and replacing components, reading complex schematics/blueprints, and documenting repairs in the MRO system. A strong background in hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding is required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in maintenance with plastic shredders and/or extruders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to locate information with tools.
  • Experience diagnosing hydraulic and air fluid systems.
  • Experience reading schematics and blueprints.
  • Controls or mechatronics education preferred.
  • Basic welding skills with attention to details.
  • Proficient with computers and data systems for maintenance records.
  • Clear verbal and written communication required.
  • Ability to work independently with adequate urgency to improve utilization.
  • Willingness to participate in onsite and offsite educational courses.

Responsibilities

  • Basic welding skills for knife base installation on shredders
  • Barrel and screw changes on extrusion equipment
  • Monitor machine alarms to efficiently track down problem details and identify solutions
  • Read pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical schematics and utilize these tools to locate machine components and implement solutions
  • Read mechanical blueprints and utilize equipment manuals
  • Perform efficient repairs on mechanical parts such as bearings, pulleys, filters, valves, gauges, wiring, sensors, and switches
  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic power systems
  • Document details of diagnosis, repair, parts, and relevant data for history in MRO computer system

Description

The Maintenance Technician specializing in the reprocessing operation is responsible for maintaining recycling equipment used in the 24/7 production of plastic material. Performing preventative and repair maintenance on equipment such as extruders, shredders, and water separators, improves production utilization and throughput.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Navigate equipment controllers on Erema extruders, Lindner shredders, and material separation equipment

  • Perform weekly maintenance to maintain minimum throughputs such as knife rotations, knife replacement, and water tank cleaning
  • Basic welding skills for knife base installation on shredders
  • Barrel and screw changes on extrusion equipment
  • Monitor machine alarms to efficiently track down problem details and accurately identify solutions
  • Full ability to read pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical schematics, utilizing these tools to locate machine components and implement solutions
  • Full ability to read mechanical blueprints and utilize equipment manuals
  • Perform efficient repairs on mechanical parts such as bearings, pulleys, filters, valves, gauges, wiring, sensors, and switches
  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic power systems
  • Document details of diagnosis, repair, parts, and relevant data for history in MRO computer system

  • Clear verbal and written communication required
  • Attention to detail with adequate sense of urgency to improve utilization
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgement
  • Able to participate in onsite and offsite educational courses as required
