Job summary

Cheney Brothers is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to perform building repairs across our facility in Punta Gorda, FL. You will handle plumbing, electrical, painting and carpentry, conduct preventive maintenance, and document inspections to ensure safety and reliability.

The role requires at least two years in carpentry, electrical, and plumbing, strong communication, and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs. A HS diploma or GED is required; associates degree preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• Minimum of two years of experience in carpentry, electrical, and plumbing.
• Maintenance or operations experience.
• Strong communication skills to interact with internal customers and external vendors.
• Ability to push, pull and lift 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Performs a wide variety of repairs throughout the facility including plumbing, electrical, painting, and carpentry. Ensures proper upkeep and preventative maintenance of all buildings, materials, and systems. Schedules, directs and ensures satisfactory completion of work performed by vendors.
• Records data from main electrical panels on a quarterly basis.
• Inspects equipment and building areas (air compressors, roofs, sprinkler systems) and records inspection data.
• Provides support with conference room set-up for meetings, caterings, and events.
• Maintains positive interactions with associates at all levels while delivering excellent service and support.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position Purpose:

Performs complex building repairs using various technical skills (i.e., carpentry, electrical, and plumbing.) Assists in maintaining preventive maintenance programs and procedures. Conducts weekly and monthly building inspections to identify needed repairs and safety hazards. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.

Qualifications:

Required Education: High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience

Required Experience:

• Minimum of two years of experience in each of the following trades - carpentry, electrical, and plumbing.
• Previous maintenance or operations experience.
• Strong communication skills to interact with internal customers and external vendors.
• Demonstrated proficiency with computer systems to record and track data.
• Ability to push, pull and lift 75 lbs.

Preferred qualifications:

• Preferred Education: Associates Degree or 2-year technical diploma.
• Preferred Experience: 2-4 years' experience maintenance in a warehouse setting.
