Job summary

FirstService Residential is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support daily maintenance and operation of a luxury high-rise condominium in downtown Pittsburgh. You will collaborate with an experienced team, service HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, and ensure safety and efficiency.

The role emphasizes responding to resident requests, performing preventative maintenance, and maintaining high service standards for residents and ownership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3-5 years of experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, or property maintenance.
• Experience working in apartment communities, commercial buildings, healthcare facilities, universities, hotels, or high-rise properties strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement work involving HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical components, carpentry, painting, and mechanical equipment
• Respond to resident service requests and work orders, estimate repair time, and document completed work in the work order system
• Perform preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment according to established schedules
• Inspect building amenities and common areas to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns
• Troubleshoot building systems and respond quickly to operational issues affecting the property
• Coordinate with and monitor service vendors and contractors performing building repairs or maintenance
• Maintain appropriate inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company policies and safety procedures
• Provide professional and responsive customer service to residents and colleagues
