Job summary

Gregg County in East Texas is seeking a maintenance technician skilled in HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems. You will respond to routine maintenance requests, on-call service calls, and emergencies, while coordinating with supervisors.

The role requires independent work, problem-solving, and adherence to health, safety, and building codes, with flexibility for weekends and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • TDLR in plumbing, electrical or HVAC (preferred but not required).
  • Experience in commercial building maintenance with HVAC, plumbing and electrical.
  • Experience in trouble shooting and repair of HVAC, electrical and plumbing equipment.
  • Experience in repairing motors, pumps, compressors, etc.
  • Skilled in operating and maintaining motorized equipment and heavy machinery.
  • Ability to perform accurate measurements and arithmetic calculations.
  • Computer skills for training and work orders; ability to work independently.
  • Physical ability to bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, stand, walk, climb ladders, and work from heights.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to routine maintenance requests, on-call service requests, and emergency situations, providing regular updates to supervisors.
  • Strong ability to work independently or within a team, consistently meeting objectives and deadlines. Demonstrates excellent self-motivation, problem-solving skills, adaptability, and efficient task management with minimal supervision
  • Apply finishes to surfaces such as wood, metal, glass, plaster, and cement, and apply non-restricted pesticides/herbicides in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Understand building controls and the systems associated with each.
  • Trouble shoot and repair systems and provide quick response to interruptions.
  • Maintenance and repair electrical devices including low, high and emergency power voltages.
  • Maintain all utilities and HVAC units at all Gregg County managed locations
  • Operate various types of equipment.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies, ensuring safety and security in the shop area.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and building codes, and demonstrate regular, reliable attendance, including availability for various shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessary.
  • Any other duties which may be assigned by Supervisor.
