Job summary

Friends of Switchpoint is seeking a senior Maintenance Technician III to lead advanced troubleshooting and maintenance of complex systems within our Salt Lake City facility. You will mentor junior technicians and ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across maintenance activities.

The role requires 5+ years in industrial maintenance, strong knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, and CMMS usage. This is a full-time on-site position with a starting wage of $25/hour DOE and

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated systems.

• Install, calibrate, and maintain production equipment and facility systems.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, PLC logic, and technical drawings.
• Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and root cause analysis initiatives.
• Train and mentor Maintenance Technician I and II employees.
• Ensure all work complies with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Assist with maintenance planning, scheduling, and inventory management.

PURPOSE

Maintenance Technician III is a senior-level technician responsible for advanced troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of complex equipment and facility systems. This role serves as a technical leader within the maintenance department and may provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians.

• Perform predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance activities.

• Read and interpret advanced electrical schematics, PLC logic, and technical drawings.

• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Assist with maintenance planning, scheduling, and inventory management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent advanced training preferred.
• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, automation, motors, drives, hydraulics, and plumbing.
• Experience with CMMS systems and advanced troubleshooting techniques.
• Ability to lead projects and mentor team members.
