Job summary

University of Houston System is seeking a Local Maintenance Services technician to perform skilled maintenance across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and related tasks. The role requires a shift from 2:30PM to 11PM and security checks per university policy.

Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED, 3+ years in related work, and a Texas driver license; apprenticeship requirements will be pursued. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of direct, job-related experience.
• Texas driver license required; apprenticeship requirements pursued.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and performs preventative maintenance for equipment and facilities.
• Orders supplies and maintains inventory levels for skilled trades.
• Assist training of other maintenance personnel.
• Perform plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general maintenance as needed.
• Select materials to complete work requests or projects.
• Assist other crafts on larger projects and during moves/events.
• May be assigned to emergency task forces; essential personnel when needed.
• Other related duties as assigned.
