Job summary

Colorado Premium is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to ensure smooth operation of our Kentucky facility by performing mechanical maintenance, replacements, installs, and upgrades on equipment and conveyors. You will identify recurring issues and assist in maintaining tools, power equipment, and spare parts to support production.

The role requires reading schematics for hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, executing preventative maintenance, and following safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with two years of maintenance experience.
  • Experience with electrical systems and conveyors in a warehouse/distribution setting.
  • Excellent reading, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, repair, install and maintain conveyors and equipment and the building.
  • Troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic circuits and interpret equipment manuals.
  • Install electrical wiring, conveyors, and equipment; repair electrical control circuits.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks and complete work orders in the PM/WO system.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and spare parts inventory; document usage.

Job description

Job Title: Maintenance Technician IIReports to: Maintenance SupervisorSummary: Ensures the efficient operation of the operating facility and its equipment by performingmechanical functions (i.e. replacements, installs, upgrades, etc.) and general maintenance of equipment.Identifies and prevents ongoing maintenance failures, reacts quickly to unforeseen events, and has thetechnical and mechanical ability to complete repairs. Assists in the maintenance of tools, powerequipment and the inventory of spare parts for the department.Essential Duties and Responsibilities• Identify, repair, install and maintain conveyors and equipment and the physical building. Understandequipment schematics related to hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical processes. Possess operationalunderstanding of the production equipment needed to make adjustments in mechanical mechanismsto achieve successful product packaging specifications.• Troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic circuits associated with reading and comprehendingequipment manuals or technical bulletins. Installs electrical wiring, conveyors, and equipment; newelectrical services, wiring during remodeling projects; repairs electrical equipment and controlcircuits; replaces faulty electrical switches; repairs material handling equipment. Possess theelectrical knowledge to perform electrical connections for 120 volt circuits and 480 volt 3 phasemotor connections. Wire electrical controls utilizing 2 and 3 wire control sequences.• Perform and complete assignments or Preventative Maintenance (PM) tasks and Work Orders (WO)distributed through computer based PM/WO system. Prioritize and complete work orders and ensureany required documentation is also completed. Troubleshoot and repair motor starter components.Ensure conveyors and equipment are maintained pursuant to our preventative maintenance programsand assist in the development and maintenance of all preventative maintenance programs.• Exhibit a functional understanding of safety rules (e.g. powered industrial trucks, fall protection,L.O.T.O., hot work permitting, etc.) and consistently use personal protective equipment as requiredand as prescribed by the company. Maintain departmental tools, equipment, and spare partsinventory, and identify needed parts from the inventory sheets and/or manuals and provide in/outdocumentation for parts inventory usage.• Ability to read and understand available equipment manuals and updates to identify and locaterequired lubrication points, and the ability to utilize mechanical aptitude in determining lubricationconstraints as specified therein. Competency in the utilization of various measuring tools todetermine volume, pressure, and process continuity. Perform mechanical connections for pneumaticand hydraulic hose connections.• Performs routine walking and visual inspections of the production floor in observation of unsafe actsor conditions; takes immediate corrective action where necessary to develop and meet plant safetygoals. Is actively involved in safety efforts.• Reports food safety and quality issues, corrective actions, and preventative measures tomanagement. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and smallgroup situations to other associates of the organization.• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, commonfractions, and decimals. Ability to interpret miscellaneous drawings and schematics.• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oralinstructions.
