Job summary

Blount Fine Foods in Fall River, MA, seeks a Maintenance Technician to perform required maintenance and repair on building and process equipment during the second shift (3 PM–12 AM). You will work independently and with the team to meet customer and company expectations, following established procedures and safety rules.

The role requires inspecting equipment, performing preventive maintenance, repairing equipment, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma and a trade school certification.
  • Six years of related experience.
  • Working knowledge of industrial machine repair, measurements and electrical knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Routinely inspect equipment to identify/report potential equipment failure.
  • Routinely inspect equipment to identify/report potential equipment safety issues.
  • Routinely inspect plant utilities to identify/report potential equipment failures.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks as scheduled or assigned to process equipment.
  • Perform repairs to maintain the operational ability and integrity of process equipment.
  • Maintain areas outside of processing areas per the Master Sanitation Plan.
  • Setup/maintain preoperational equipment and teardown/post-operational maintenance.
  • Safely operate maintenance power tools and measuring instruments.
  • Safely operate gas cutting and welding systems.
  • Safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks (Plant Certification).
  • Must be LOTO certified.
  • Maintain and use Work Orders and Preventive Maintenance Worksheets in the CMMS.

Join a proven team for growth, success, and a satisfying career! The pay range for this opportunity is $31-$31.78/hour. THIS POSITION IS SECOND SHIFT, 3PM-12AM. Summary: Perform required maintenance and repair on building and equipment as scheduled or as needed during processing hours. To work independently and cooperatively to meet and / or exceed the expectations of the customer, company and department, through established and maintained procedures. Maintain positive / productive behavior, showing care for the customer and fellow employees, without compromising company or personal standards.


Essential Duties


  • Routinely inspect equipment to identify / report potential equipment failure.

  • Routinely inspect equipment to identify / report potential equipment safety issues. (personnel and / or food safety)

  • Routinely inspect plant utilities to identify / report potential equipment failures.

  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks as scheduled and /or assigned to process equipment.

  • Perform repairs to maintain the operational ability and integrity of process equipment.

  • Maintain areas outside of processing areas, to the level of requirements of the Master Sanitation Plan.

  • Perform preoperational equipment setup / maintenance and post operational equipment teardown / maintenance on process equipment.

  • Safely operate various maintenance power tools and measuring instruments.

  • Safely operate gas cutting and welding systems.

  • Safely operate forklifts, manual and /or electric pallet jacks (Plant Certification)

  • Must be LOTO (Lockout / Tagout) Certified


Maintain All Required Maintenance & Company Records And Documents


  • Maintain updates, create and do Work Orders & Preventive Maintenance Worksheets within the Computerized Maintenance Management System.

  • Maintain and understand how to use equipment manuals that are located within the Maintenance Library.

  • Requires lubrication and filtration. (inspection / repair / preventive maintenance)

  • Requires utilities. (inspection / repair / preventive maintenance)

  • Requires technical fundamentals.

  • Requires asset management. (inspection / repair / preventive maintenance)

  • Requires asset management (predictive maintenance)

  • Requires mechanical. (inspection / repair / preventive maintenance)

  • Requires mechanical schematic navigation. (mechanical / pneumatic / hydraulic)

  • Requires electrical (inspection / repair / preventive maintenance)

  • Requires electrical schematic navigation (controls / safeties / VFD’s)

  • Requires fabrication.

  • Requires diagnostic navigation.

  • Requires tasks, that are assigned verbally, written or digitally by Maintenance Leadership to be completed as directed.

  • Required to understand and follow all Maintenance Programs and Company Policies.

  • Miscellaneous Responsibilities

  • Attend GMP & Safety meetings.

  • Attend training that is made available in relation to job description.

  • Evaluate and contribute to the management of the parts inventory level.


Education & Development

High school diploma and a Trade school certification


6 years related experience.


Must have working knowledge of industrial machine repair, measurements, electrical knowledge.
