Job summary

Blount Fine Foods Corporation seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician for the second shift (3PM-12AM) in Fall River, MA. The role focuses on maintaining and repairing processing equipment to ensure optimal operation and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma, a trade school certification, and at least 6 years of related experience, with working knowledge of industrial machine repair, measurements, and electrical systems.

Qualifications

  • General plant training.
  • Assemble/disassemble equipment.
  • Lubrication and filtration (inspection/repair/preventive maintenance).
  • Mechanical fundamentals and electrical fundamentals.
  • Asset management (predictive maintenance).
  • Mechanical schematic navigation (mechanical/pneumatic/hydraulic).
  • Electrical inspection/repair and schematic navigation (controls/safeties/VFDs).
  • Fabrication and basic tooling skills.
  • Follow maintenance programs and company policies.
  • Attend GMP and Safety meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect equipment routinely to identify/report potential failures.
  • Inspect equipment for safety issues (personnel and/or food safety).
  • Inspect plant utilities and report issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks as scheduled/assigned.
  • Repair equipment to maintain operational ability and integrity.
  • Maintain maintenance records and work orders in the system.
  • Set up/maintain process equipment and teardown as needed.
  • Operate maintenance tools and measuring instruments safely.
  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks (Plant Certification).
  • Maintain and update parts inventory as directed.

The pay range for this opportunity is $31-$31.78/hour.

THIS POSITION IS SECOND SHIFT, 3PM-12AM.

Summary

Perform required maintenance and repair on building and equipment as scheduled or as needed during processing hours.

To work independently and cooperatively to meet and/or exceed the expectations of the customer, company and department, through established and maintained procedures. Maintain positive/productive behavior, showing care for the customer and fellow employees, without compromising company or personal standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Routinely inspect equipment to identify/report potential equipment failure.
  • Routinely inspect equipment to identify/report potential equipment safety issues (personnel and/or food safety).
  • Routinely inspect plant utilities to identify/report potential equipment failures.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks as scheduled and/or assigned to process equipment.
  • Perform repairs to maintain the operational ability and integrity of process equipment.
  • Maintain areas outside of processing areas, to the level of requirements of the Master Sanitation Plan.
  • Perform pre‑operational equipment setup/maintenance and post‑operational equipment teardown/maintenance on process equipment.
  • Safely operate various maintenance power tools and measuring instruments.
  • Safely operate gas cutting and welding systems.
  • Safely operate forklifts, manual and/or electric pallet jacks (Plant Certification).
  • Must be LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) Certified.
  • Maintain all required maintenance & company records and documents.
  • Maintain updates, create and do work orders & preventive maintenance worksheets within the Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  • Maintain and understand how to use equipment manuals that are located within the Maintenance Library.

  • Attend training that is made available in relation to job description.
  • Evaluate and contribute to the management of the parts inventory level.
Education & Development

High school diploma and a Trade school certification.

6 years related experience.

Must have working knowledge of industrial machine repair, measurements, electrical knowledge.
