Job summary

DICK’S Sporting Goods is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our distribution center in the Atlanta area. The role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment, with emphasis on PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and conveyors to keep DC operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities include following PM standards, reporting parts usage, training junior technicians, and coordinating with external vendors to complete projects safely and on schedule.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in mechanical or electrical field or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a maintenance role.
  • Welding, burning, cutting experience.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, gear boxes & PLC controls.
  • Able to read and understand electrical/mechanical drawings/schematics.
  • Good safety awareness.
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull and lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Experience with LOTO.

  • Adhere to all safety requirements including OSHA standards and LOTO.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment; follow PM standards and document work.
  • Report spare parts inventory levels and daily usage to Maintenance leadership.
  • Train junior technicians to elevate performance.
  • Collaborate with outside vendors to complete DC projects safely and on time.
  • Take on additional duties to support DC operations.

OVERVIEW:
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to all safety requirements including OSHA standards with regards to LOTO and safe work practices.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all equipment related to the facility and conveyance systems within the facility. Follow PM standards and document work performed for accurate record keeping in our asset management system. Areas of expertise must include PLC’s, conveyors, 3 phase electric, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and any other related equipment.
  • Accurately report spare parts inventory levels and daily parts usage to Maintenance leadership to help ensure spare parts inventory is maintained.
  • Assist in teammate development by training junior technicians in order to elevate their performance level while troubleshooting and repairing any related assets.
  • Work closely with outside vendors in order to complete projects within the DCs in a safe and timely manor.
  • Take on other duties as needed to support the DC and it’s operational needs
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate’s Degree - 2 year vocational technical certificate or degree preferably in a mechanical or electrical application
  • 3-5 years of experience
  • Welding, burning, cutting
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, gear boxes & PLC controls
  • Familiar with DC-specific specialized software packages (ex. Crown PM, Gage) & equipment
  • Able to read & understand electrical mechanical building type drawings/schematics
  • Good safety awareness
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull & lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Experience with LOTO
  • Basic English reading comprehension & numerical reasoning skills.
