Job summary

Job description

Amarillo Gear Company LLC is part of the global industrial organization Marmon Holdings, backed by Berkshire Hathaway. This role is for a Maintenance Technician who will install, maintain, and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, electric, mechanical and electrical systems on production equipment and work independently on standard maintenance and repairs.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required). A technical degree or certification in industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Associate’s degree in Machining or Certificate in Industrial Maintenance.
  • At least 5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
Special Skills
  • Thorough knowledge of programming of PLC and CNC controls.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and understanding of various industrial machinery and systems.
  • Problem‑solving and diagnostic abilities to analyze equipment issues and find solutions.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with production on timelines and schedules.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and online CMMS systems.
Responsibilities
  • Receive assigned work orders daily and complete tasks within the allocated timeline.
  • Enter appropriate information onto worksheets for submission into MRP and CMMS system upon completion of work.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) and visual inspections.
  • Test assigned machines and equipment for proper functionality.
  • Order requisition parts as needed.
  • Perform repairs on production machines and/or equipment when a malfunction is detected; communicate with Maintenance Manager or other maintenance workers to diagnose and repair the machine.
  • Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment; repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
  • Perform machine installations/moves and building maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Assist workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
  • Ensure that a high level of safety is always adhered to on and off the production floor.
  • Assist in TPM development and implementation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
