Job summary

QVC Group is seeking a Maintenance Tech I to join our Bethlehem, PA fulfillment center team. You will perform general facility repairs, maintain production-related equipment, conveyors, and dock systems, and support outside vendors.

The role requires basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems, with the ability to read blueprints and follow safety protocols. On-call work, lifting up to 50 pounds, and occasional overtime are expected.

Qualifications

  • 6 months - 3 years' experience with mechanical and electrical systems.
  • High School graduate or equivalent; Industrial mechanic trade school courses or certification or equivalent military technical training.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals.
  • Familiarity with blueprints, and engineering specifications
  • Be on call, workdays or nights, weekends and overtime when needed.
  • Can repeatedly lift 50 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Building Maintenance - perform and facilitate general facility repairs such as plumbing, electrical, lighting, painting, HVAC, and wall repair; repair dock doors, dock locks, and dock plates; escort and assist outside vendors.
  • Equipment Maintenance - perform planned and unplanned repairs, and preventative maintenance to production-related equipment, Powered Industrial Trucks, and building equipment; identify and correct safety hazards.
  • Conveyor, Automation and Sorter Systems - support planned and unplanned repairs and maintenance to conveyors and sorter equipment; assist with repair; maximize equipment throughput.
  • Problem Solving - detect potential problems and inform team leaders to resolve electrical, mechanical, plumbing, heating/cooling, and equipment issues.
  • Electrical - understand AC/DC systems and how to use a voltage meter; follow lock out/tag out policy; assist with repairs or replacement of de-energized electrical systems.
  • Safety / Facility Cleanliness - maintain 5S and safety procedures; keep area safe, organized, and clean; follow safety and environmental regulations; manage inventory and cleaning daily.

Your Opportunity, Your Team
  • The Maintenance Tech I supports QVC and HSN and performs basic tasks and repairs within the fulfillment center including work on conveyors, PIT equipment, and general building maintenance. This requires a basic understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. You will assist all other Maintenance Tech's with more complex maintenance responsibilities. You will report to the Maintenance Area Manager.
Where You'll Work
  • This role is onsite and will require you to work from our Bethlehem, PA location daily. Relocation assistance is not available for this role.
What You'll Do
  • Building Maintenance - Perform and facilitate general facility repairs such as plumbing, electrical, lighting, painting, HVAC, and wall repair. Perform repairs on dock doors, dock locks, and dock plates to resolve problems and ensure successful operation. Escort and assist outside vendors.
  • Equipment Maintenance - Perform planned and unplanned repairs, and preventative maintenance to production-related equipment, Powered Industrial Trucks, and building equipment. Identify and correct safety hazards and potential maintenance issues before they become critical. Help with repairs when unscheduled breakdowns occur.
  • Conveyor, Automation and Sorter Systems - Support and perform planned and unplanned repairs and preventative maintenance to maintain operation of conveyors and sorter equipment. Help with conveyor, automation and sortation system repairs. Address production-related issues and consult with team leaders to ensure you perform necessary corrections to maximize equipment throughput.
  • Problem Solving - Detect potential problems and inform team leaders so that you perform resolutions to electrical, mechanical, plumbing, heating/cooling, and equipment problems before they affect the operation of the facility.
  • Electrical - Have a fundamental understanding of AC and DC systems and how to use a voltage meter. Can follow lock out/tag out policy. May ask team leaders to assist with repairs or replacement of de-energized electrical systems.
  • Safety / Facility Cleanliness - Practice and be a leader in 5S and safety procedures to ensure that the area is safe, organized, and clean. Maintain complete inventory and cleaning of all equipment and work areas daily. Understand and comply with all safety and environmental regulations, and company procedures. These include the control of hazardous energy (lock out/tag out).
