Job summary

Burlington Stores is seeking an entry-level Maintenance General Technician to maintain and repair automated material handling equipment and facility systems. You will troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance to support a high-availability supply chain facility.

You will work with lead technicians and management to resolve issues, perform root cause analyses, and manage work orders using mobile apps.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Transferrable mechanical skills.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Basic PC skills; able to use handheld apps.
• Familiarity with wiring diagrams and electrical/mechanical principles.
• Experience with preventive/predictive maintenance and MHE is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and perform basic troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical aspects of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) on site.
• Demonstrate mechanical proficiency for hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and AC/DC electrical motors and drives.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics; perform preventative maintenance on facility equipment.
• Use handheld devices to create and close Work Orders with data (labor hours, downtime, parts used).
• Follow safety procedures and wear PPE; participate in Root Cause Analysis with leadership.

Job description

Position OverviewAs a Burlington Maintenance General Technician, you will maintain and repair automated material handling and facility equipment and ensure high equipment availability rates. You will use preventive and predictive maintenance processes and rapidly troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and quickly restore equipment to service to support the successful operation of the supply chain facility. You will work with other Burlington techs to solve problems, validate quality of work for outside specialty contractors, and meet aggressive timelines. You will collaborate with lead techs, skilled techs, and maintenance leadership to perform Root Cause Analysis for equipment failures. You will operate Burlington-owned vehicles to complete maintenance activities on the exterior of the facility and within the trailer yard, as well as travel to nearby facilities to procure parts and supplies as needed.
