Job summary

Weekender is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to perform routine maintenance, preventative care, and minor repairs at a multi-location hospitality setting. You will support ongoing upkeep and safety across guest areas and back-of-house spaces.

The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, collaboration with leadership, and a commitment to guest satisfaction while maintaining property standards.

Qualifications

• Understanding of basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems to troubleshoot and repair minor issues.
• Proficiency in carpentry, painting, and general repair tasks.
• Ability to diagnose issues and identify solutions to maintenance problems.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with guests and staff regarding maintenance requests.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures.
• Experience using hand and electrical tools.
• Physical stamina and dexterity.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to be on foot for long periods, up to 90% of day.
• Frequent lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying, crawling, and/or bending throughout shift.
• Ability to lift or carry up to 50lbs from time to time.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic repairs such as light bulb replacement, unclogging drains, patching walls, and minor carpentry or painting tasks.
• Assist with routine inspections of equipment (e.g., HVAC filters, plumbing fixtures, safety devices) and report issues promptly.
• Support outdoor upkeep, including light landscaping, snow removal, or debris cleanup.
• Complete assigned work orders accurately and on time.
• Follow safety procedures when using tools, equipment, and chemicals.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in maintenance areas and storage spaces.
• Provide courteous and timely responses to guest and staff requests.
• Assist Maintenance II and leadership staff with larger repairs or projects.
