Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technical Apprentice to develop on-the-job skills in maintaining buildings, industrial systems, and equipment.

This role is part of Engineering and Technical Services and supports preventive maintenance and repairs across building systems. You will train with engineers, observe operations, assist with installations, and help verify compliance with codes and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma, GED, or be enrolled in a 2- or 4-year program or technical school.
• Must be able to meet physical requirements including lifting 50 lbs or more.
• Effective communication abilities are essential.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong organizational skills and curiosity are required.

About the Role:

As a CBRE Maintenance Technical Apprentice, you will develop on the job skills to maintain buildings, industrial systems, and equipment on an ongoing basis.

This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

What You’ll Do:

• Receive training from current engineers in proper job safety and repair procedures.

• Observe engineers while they perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repairs on facility mechanical, electrical, and other installed building systems, equipment, and facilities.

• Assist with installation and modification of building equipment and systems.

• Work with management to ensure energy management by taking measures to verify that all systems are operating in the most efficient manner.

• Inspect new or existing installations for compliance with building codes and safety regulations.

• Follow a set procedure in the performance of repetitive tasks or job activities.

• Impact through methods, tasks, and duties which are clearly defined and followed with little to no discretion.

What You’ll Need:

• High School Diploma, GED, or currently enrolled in a 2 or 4-year college program or technical school.

• Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.

• Ability to develop skills to perform basic activities in own job.

• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

• Organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.

Pay Disclaimer - Not-Bonus Eligible: * CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Maintenance Technician Apprentice position is $40,000 annually [or $19.23 per hour] and the maximum salary for the Maintenance Technician Apprenctice position is $45,000 annually [or $21.63 per hour]. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
