Job summary

Pioneer Metal Finishing is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for a swing shift with occasional weekends. Pay starts at $30.00/hour with a performance review after 90 days. You will maintain, install, and repair plant equipment and support systems to ensure continuous operations.

The role requires knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems, plus the ability to troubleshoot and communicate clearly. A technical degree is preferred, and safety/regulatory compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Fabrication experience preferred or similar experience.
• Broad knowledge of electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems.
• Technical degree with a minimum of two years work-related experience preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Blueprint & schematic knowledge helpful.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, installs, and repairs equipment and building support systems to keep plant and offices running.
• Diagnose and resolve malfunctions in equipment such as cranes, motors, chillers, pumps, and boilers.
• Performs mechanical, electrical, and plumbing tasks.
• Responds to emergency calls 24/7 and adheres to safety and quality procedures.
• Maintains departmental documentation and communicates preventive maintenance checks.

Overview

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will:

Performs maintenance, installations, and repairs of equipment and building support systems that are necessary to the operation of the plant and offices at the facility.

• Works on job duties and assignments as they relate to maintenance, repair, installing, fabricating, adjusting, troubleshooting, and any other maintenance duties as needed.
• Responsible for communicating preventive maintenance checks.
• Responsible to communicate departmental inventory control.
• Diagnose & resolve equipment malfunctions and operating difficulties related to, but not limited to, cranes/hoists, 3 phase motors, chillers, cooling towers, boilers, HVA units, pumps, exhaust fans, etc.
• Perform mechanical, electrical and plumbing operations.
• Performs start-up and shut down functions on plant equipment and facilities as required.
• Responds to emergency calls on a twenty-four-hour basis.
• Works consistently to resolve sited safety issues in a timely manner.
• Responsible for maintaining departmental documentation as required.
• Workings safely at all times in compliance with OSHA safety and EPA regulations.
• Adheres to all Quality System procedures and work instructions.
• Works closely with EHS Leader in the handling, labeling, containment and disposal of hazardous waste.
• Performs other miscellaneous job duties and related functions, as directed by the Maintenance Manager

What to Expect on the Job:

• Sharp parts, sharp tooling, heaving carts, seasonal high temperature and humidity levels, working at heights, moderate noise levels, limited hand and air tool use, compressed air (must use hearing protection).
• Must be able to wear respiratory protection when required.
• Must be able to lift 30-50 lbs. unassisted.
• Potential splash exposure near process lines.

What we're Looking For:

• Must have a minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
• Fabrication experience preferred, or similar experience.
• Requires broad based knowledge of electrical, mechanical and plumbing acquired through hands on training.
• Technical degree with a minimum of two (2) years work-related experience preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Blueprint & schematic knowledge helpful.
• Great communication skills.
• Ability to work individually and part of a team.
