Superior Metal Technologies in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead all maintenance activities in a 120,000 sq ft paint and anodizing facility. You will plan, execute and assign work, implement policies, and drive improvements while maintaining safety and high morale.

Ideal candidates have five+ years of maintenance leadership, hands-on skills, and experience with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent or equivalent work experience.
• Five+ years of experience with maintenance leadership.
• Experience in an aluminum finishing environment highly desired.
• Previous supervision experience required.
• Proven knowledge of electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Willingness to be a hands-on leader.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute and assign maintenance work across a 120,000 sq ft facility.
• Implement policies and procedures; drive continuous improvement.
• Evaluate systems to determine maintenance or repairs and coordinate with contractors.
• Ensure safety remains the top priority and maintain an injury-free environment.
• Operate and troubleshoot PLC control systems; on-call after hours.

About this position

Description: Superior Metal Technologies is looking for a manufacturing Maintenance Manager to handle all aspects of maintenance in our 120,000 square foot paint and anodizing facility. In this position the right person will be able to plan, execute and assign work, implement policies and procedures and recommend improvements in methods, equipment, procedures and working conditions. This position drives continuous improvement through the plant operation and may lead others as necessary to maintain a high level of morale. Duties: Where safety is always our top priority, balance safety, quality, cost, productivity and achieving positive results in all areas. Demonstrate commitment to an injury-free environment and safety and health management program. Evaluates systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed and completes these tasks or coordinates with contractors/vendors as needed. Ability to properly operate power tools, and associated equipment. The ideal candidate must be able to perform the above duties in a safe and efficient manner.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent or equivalent work experience.
• Must have five plus years of experience with maintenance leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
• Experience in an aluminum finishing environment highly desired.
• Previous supervision experience required.
• Proven knowledge of electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Experience with preventative maintenance.
• Willingness to be a hands-on leader.
• Self-starter – ability to work independently and strive for constant improvement.
• Possess the ability to work in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment.
• Strong knowledge of overhead crane systems.
• Able to program and trouble shoot PLC control systems.
• Welding aluminum and steel experience.
• strong knowledge of electrical AC and DC, single phase and 3 phase - 480V,277V,240V,120V,24V,12V.
• Proper operation of cutting torch
• Rebuild and troubleshooting pumps (centrifugal and diaphragm)
• Troubleshooting and repair hydraulics
• Troubleshooting electrical issues with and with-out prints
• Troubleshooting mechanical issues with and with-out prints
• On call for after hours as neededDaily breakdown repairs of equipment
• Able to prioritize work based upon manufacturing production needs.

• Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50lbs. Occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 lbs. to position metal objects to begin and finish treatment processes and/or prepare for shipping
• Frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl to position self to move metal objects for treatment or packing.
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus. Must be able to detect slight differences in various finishes.
• Communicate verbally with coworkers about safety, discrepancy, or variety of other work issues
• Tolerate working in an environment that may be hot or cold depending on the season and will expose you to loud sounds, dust, fumes and solvents.
