POSITION SUMMARY:

The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on all production equipment including all fabrication equipment mechanical and hydraulic, conveyor systems, welding machines, e-coating and powder coating systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. The ability to follow diagrams, prints, sketches operations manuals and engineering specifications
  2. Responsible for observing and troubleshooting malfunctions
  3. Must be able to install machinery/equipment, assembling or repairing wiring, electronic and electrical components, plumbing, piping, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  4. Responsible for repairing and or replacing defective or faulty equipment parts using hand tools and power tools
  5. Must be able to weld (ex. mig, stick/ flux core as well as fit and cut metals/aluminum)
  6. Provides emergency unscheduled repairs which may require overtime and some weekends
  7. Provides regular preventative maintenance on machines and equipment
  8. Will be responsible for facility snow removal
  9. Must follow all OSHA safety standards in all work that is performed, (Lock Out Tag Out)
  10. Employee must be able to recognize their individual obligations to conduct themselves with due regard not only for their own safety but for the safety of their fellow employees.
  11. Additional training may be required depending on the job assignment.
  12. Ability to diagnose equipment and systems
  13. Basic industrial electrical knowledge
  14. Must be able to properly use a cutting torch
  15. Ability to read and follow prints
  16. Ability to accurately read all types of measuring devices
  17. Preferred former plumbing experience
  18. Familiarity using “Copper” and “PVC piping”
  19. Ability to operate a fork truck/power worker
  20. Must be able to successfully pass the standard written and riding forklift test
  21. Ability to work off ladders and a high lift

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School Diploma or GED preferred
  2. Willing to work overtime and varied shift assignments as required
  3. Prior experience preferred

  1. Work occurs primarily on production floor
  2. Reference Physical Work Task Analysis
