Job summary

HandCraft Services in Richmond, VA is seeking a detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to ensure the smooth functioning of equipment and facilities. The role emphasizes diagnosing and resolving issues with strong troubleshooting and safety focus.

You will work a 40-hour week on 4-10s, with early AM and early PM shifts. Experience with PLCs, VFDs, MSPs, and automation components is highly valued for maintaining equipment effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years maintenance experience in an industrial setting.
  • Experience with PLCs, VFDs, MSPs, and other automation components.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge; able to read manuals and schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Safety Compliance: adhere to safety protocols and implement corrective measures.
  • Preventative Maintenance: perform inspections and preventive tasks on equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and Repairs: diagnose and repair mechanical/electrical systems.
  • Operational Support: collaborate with other departments for equipment effectiveness.
  • Documentation and Reporting: maintain records of maintenance activities.
  • Team Collaboration: coordinate activities and share knowledge with colleagues.
  • Training and Mentoring: coach junior technicians.
  • Other duties as assigned

We are actively seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be a vital part of our operations, responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of our equipment and facilities. If you have a keen eye for diagnosing and resolving technical issues, possess strong troubleshooting skills, and thrive in a dynamic maintenance environment, we encourage you to apply. Our Maintenance Technicians work a 40 hour work week, working 4 - 10's.

Early AM and Early PM start times.

Maintenance Technician 3 and/or 4 Responsibilities:
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations during maintenance activities. Identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and carry out preventative maintenance procedures and tasks on equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and Repairs: Utilize your technical expertise to troubleshoot and repair a variety of mechanical and electrical systems and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Operational Support: Work with other departments to ensure overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance technicians and relevant departments to coordinate maintenance activities, share knowledge, and provide technical support when needed.
  • Training and Mentoring: Provide guidance and training to junior technicians to enhance their technical skills and ensure the effective transfer of knowledge within the team.
  • Other duties as assigned
Maintenance Technician 3 and/or 4 Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Additional technical certifications preferred)
  • Has a minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial setting or equivalent.
  • Has excellent mechanical aptitude.
  • Has excellent working knowledge of mechanical/electrical principles.
  • Has excellent understanding of electrical troubleshooting.
  • Proficient in the use of electrical/mechanical diagnostic, testing, and measurement tools.
  • Has a great team focused attitude.
  • Is excited to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • Experience with PLCs, VFDs, MSPs, and other Automation components.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
  • Is physically able to perform the duties of the job.
  • Is able to operate support equipment (i.e. Forklifts, Scissor Lifts)
  • Has strong communication skills.
  • Is willing to work a flexible schedule which may include weekends and holidays.
