JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician II will help lead a team to provide a safe and well-maintained store environment for Nordstrom customers and employees. This role supports the Facility Manager (FM) to ensure stores are ready for business daily. Key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring HVAC, Vertical Transportation, Restaurants, Entries and Signs, and Building Systems are operational for the day's business
• Responding to daily break-fix requests, troubleshooting, and delegating work orders to team members
• Communicating with Store Leadership, participating in meetings, supporting vendor relations, and managing administrative tasks such as parts ordering and meeting setup

As a lead technician, you will support repairs and maintenance of equipment and systems throughout the building, mentor other technicians, and develop your skills. This position supports multiple Nordstrom Stores and Nordstrom Rack locations within a business node.

A day in the life…

• Lead and perform scheduled and on-demand maintenance on all equipment
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues related to store operations
• Operate and monitor building controls and systems
• Handle alarms and verify building operations via EMCS
• Conduct building rounds, identify malfunctions, and report issues
• Perform manual labor tasks as needed
• Assist with administrative tasks such as parts ordering and vendor management
• Promote safety by following procedures and acting as a safety champion
• Represent the facilities team in meetings and document outcomes
• Complete preventive maintenance with proper documentation and mentor technicians
• Assist FM with technical training
• Respond to emergencies as needed
• Maintain CMMS records and inventory
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and property managers
• Comply with safety, codes, and regulations

You’ve got this if…

• High School Diploma/GED; higher education preferred
• 5-7 years of hands-on facilities experience, especially in mechanical maintenance
• 5+ years in predictive and preventive maintenance
• Experience with HVAC, refrigeration, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical inputs/outputs and logical devices
• Self-motivated with good time management
• Effective communication skills
• Supportive of a safe, customer-focused environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with CMMS and ordering systems
• Knowledge of networking and electromechanical systems
• Project management experience is a plus
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and off-hours

Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing, and lifting/carrying loads over 50 lbs.

Pay Range Details

In New York, the pay range is $23.75 - $41.25 hourly, subject to location-specific laws.
