Job summary

Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician 2 for night shift, Thursday through Sunday, to support hospital facilities operations in Alexandria, VA.

You will perform preventative maintenance, respond to service requests, replace lamps, and ensure safety standards are met. HS diploma and 3 years in commercial maintenance required; knowledge of basic electricity and plumbing is expected.

Responsibilities

• Responds to Spectralink telephone calls within 30 seconds of being notified.
• Documents maintenance work by noting information on logs, work orders or PM orders.
• Performs PM in accordance with PM orders.
• Evaluates requests for engineering services to determine resources required.
• Notifies Engineering personnel if urgent resources are needed.
• Replaces light bulbs and tubes per re-lamping schedule.

Inova Alexandria Hospital is looking for a dedicated Maintenance Technician 2 to join the team. This role is Full-time working night shift Thursday through Sunday. Thursday/Friday 8 hour shifts are 10:30pm-7am, and Saturday/Sunday 12 hour shifts are 6pm-6:30am.

Maintenance Technician 2 Job Responsibilities:

• Responds to Spectralink telephone calls within 30 seconds of being notified; Responds to pager/overhead pager calls within one minute of being notified.
• Documents maintenance work by noting necessary information on required equipment logs, work orders or preventative maintenance (PM) orders and submits to supervisor, or relief, as appropriate.
• Performs PM in accordance with PM orders provided by the supervisor.
• Evaluates requests for engineering services to determine resources required to resolve the request to customers' satisfaction.

Notifies appropriate Engineering department personnel if additional resources are required to complete customers' requests due to the urgency of the request or if customers insist the work be done immediately.

Replaces light bulbs and tubes in accordance with re-lamping schedule.

Evaluates the urgency of requests and responds to the site of the request immediately if needed.

Wears appropriate safety equipment and complies with departmental and OSHA safety standards at all times.

• Education:High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: 3 years of experience as a maintenance worker in a commercial setting required. Knowledge of basic electricity and plumbing.
