Job summary

Colorado Premium is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to help keep the facility running smoothly by performing mechanical work on conveyors, equipment and building components. The role involves identifying and repairing issues to minimize downtime and ensuring adherence to safety SOPs.

The position requires mechanical and electrical knowledge, completion of preventive maintenance tasks, and timely execution of work orders in a computerized system.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and two years in building/mechanical maintenance.
  • Experience with electrical systems, conveyors, and power equipment in a warehouse.
  • Strong reading, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, repair, install and maintain conveyors and equipment and the building.
  • Repair wiring, plumbing, lighting, and related fixtures.
  • Perform PM tasks and process WO in the PM/WO system.
  • Follow safety rules and use PPE; maintain tools, parts inventory.
  • Read manuals to locate lubrication points and use measuring tools.
  • Inspect production floor for unsafe acts and take corrective action.

Job Title: Maintenance Technician IReports to: Maintenance SupervisorSummary: Ensures the efficient operation of the operating facility and its equipment by performingmechanical functions (i.e. replacements, installs, upgrades, etc.) and general maintenance of equipment.Identifies and prevents ongoing maintenance failures, reacts quickly to unforeseen events, and has thetechnical and mechanical ability to complete repairs. Assists in the maintenance of tools, powerequipment and the inventory of spare parts for the department.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Identify, repair, install and maintain conveyors and equipment and the physical building in a mannerthat meets organization standards and ensure minimum equipment downtime in accordance withsafety practices. Exhibit the mechanical aptitude for facility repair skills, including plumbing,electrical fixture repairs, lighting repairs, cleaning, and painting.Installs electrical wiring, conveyors, and equipment; new electrical services, wiring duringremodeling projects; repairs electrical equipment and control circuits; replaces faulty electricalswitches; repairs material handling equipment.Perform and complete assignments or Preventative Maintenance (PM) tasks and Work Orders (WO)distributed through computer based PM/WO system. Prioritize and complete work orders and ensureany required documentation is also completed. Ensure conveyors and equipment is maintainedpursuant to our preventative maintenance programs and assist in the development and maintenanceof all preventative maintenance programs.Exhibit a functional understanding of safety rules (e.g. powered industrial trucks, fall protection,L.O.T.O., hot work permitting, etc.) and consistently use personal protective equipment as requiredand as prescribed by the company. Maintain departmental tools, equipment, and spare partsinventory.Ability to read and understand available equipment manuals and updates to identify and locaterequired lubrication points, and the ability to utilize mechanical aptitude in determining lubricationconstraints as specified therein. Competency in the utilization of various measuring tools todetermine volume, pressure, and process continuity. Perform mechanical connections for pneumaticand hydraulic hose connections.Performs routine walking and visual inspections of the production floor in observation of unsafe actsor conditions; takes immediate corrective action where necessary to develop and meet plant safetygoals. Is actively involved in safety efforts.Reports food safety and quality issues, corrective actions, and preventative measures tomanagement.
