Job summary

The Hamptons Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing is seeking a Maintenance Tech to support facility grounds and building systems. The role involves routine upkeep, minor repairs, and collaborating with the Maintenance Director to ensure safety and comfort for residents.

Ideal candidates have a high school degree, basic wiring/plumbing/carpentry knowledge, strong organization, good English literacy, and the stamina to stay on call as needed.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.
• Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.
• Good organizational skills.
• Agile mindset and good physical health.
• Ability to positively interact with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
• Provide annual verification of negative TB skin test.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with and follows directions from the Maintenance Director.
• Maintains building and grounds in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
• Maintains and repairs basic functions of the facility as determined by the Maintenance Director.
• Takes care of the tools and equipment.
• Makes minor repairs on handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkling systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers, changes filters on HVAC equipment, carries, lifts and stocks supplies.
• Remains on call, when assigned, for 24 hours a day.
• Assumes supervisor’s responsibilities in his/her absence.
• Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights.
• Performs other duties as requested.

POSITION SUMMARY:
