Job summary

Freedom Behavioral Hospital in Monroe, LA, seeks a Maintenance Tech to support Environment of Care (EOC) and Life Safety. Responsibilities include campus maintenance, facilities upkeep, and safety oversight for patients, staff, and visitors.

Education or experience in building trades with life safety emphasis is preferred, with 3–5 years in healthcare settings. Essential skills include strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities; proficiency with PCs and reading

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or experience in the building trades with an emphasis on life safety and the environment of care of healthcare settings.
• 3-5 years in a hospital or nursing home setting.
• Basic maintenance in a healthcare setting including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, painting, etc.

Responsibilities

• Oversee campus maintenance and environmental services operations.
• Maintain the physical plant including building, grounds, and all maintenance needs; support EOC and Life Safety compliance.
• Assist the director and ensure safety of patients, staff, and visitors through proper facilities operations.

Job description

The maintenance tech is responsible for assisting the EOC Director in the overall safety of the hospital and for all hospital operations related to Environment of Care and Life Safety. A maintenance tech considers the safety of our patients, visitors, and employees from the perspective of our physical surroundings, work processes and operational procedures. The tech assists in overseeing the entire campus maintenance and environmental services operations of our campus that is dedicated to excellence in all aspects of patient, employee, and family safety. The maintenance tech is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the physical plant including, building, grounds, and all Maintenance needs. The maintenance tech assists the director and is responsible for all the overall safety of the hospital and for all hospital operations related to Environment of Care and Life Safety.

Basic maintenance in a healthcare setting is preferred. Including but not limited to: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, painting etc.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, And/Or Experience Required

Education: Bachelor's degree or experience in the building trades with an emphasis on life safety and the environment of care of healthcare settings.

License: None.

Experience: 3-5 years in a hospital or nursing home setting.
