Freedom Behavioral seeks a Maintenance Technician to support our 22-bed behavioral health hospital. Under the Environment of Care Director, you will perform general maintenance, repairs to facility equipment and structures, and grounds care in a safety-conscious environment.

You will conduct preventive maintenance, manage repair inventories, and assist with inspections. Expect exposure to chemicals and routine on-site duties in a healthcare setting requiring adherence to EPA/OSHA safety rules.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician operates under the direct supervision of the Environment of Care Director and is responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures, as well as grounds maintenance. All work will be performed in compliance with EPA, Hazmat, and OSHA safety rules and regulations.

The Maintenance Technician Is Responsible For The Following

• Providing oversight of maintenance for the designated hospital.
• Performing minor building, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and painting repairs as necessary.
• Implementing preventative maintenance measures.
• Maintaining an inventory of repair equipment and supplies.
• Completing inspections of offices and other designated areas with the Environment of Care Director.
• Responding quickly in the event of an emergency.
• Notifying appropriate personnel and following established safety protocols.
• Performing other maintenance duties as requested.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.

Physical Requirements

The employee must be able to:

• Walk and stand as necessary to perform job duties.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, And/Or Experience Required

Education

High school diploma or GED required. Experience in the building trades with an emphasis on life safety and Environment of Care standards in healthcare settings is preferred.

License

None required.

Experience

• Experience operating a variety of equipment, including lawn mowers, snow blowers, and small hand tools.
• EPA certification required.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
