Job summary

Fulton Commons Care Center in Town of Hempstead, NY, is seeking a Maintenance Tech with strong mechanical experience to join our facilities team. The role includes general maintenance, basic plumbing and electrical work, and material movement to support resident care and safety.

Paid at $26.79 per hour, this full-time position requires availability for rotating weekends and emergency response as needed. The team focuses on reliable, hands-on maintenance under the Director of Maintenance.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance including plumbing and electrical systems.
• Must be able to lift/move 50–100 lbs.
• Available to work one weekend per month.
• Team-oriented and able to work with others.
• Willingness to respond to emergency calls as required.
• Must meet Department of Health regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• General Maintenance Tasks: assist with upkeep and painting of resident rooms and areas.
• Plumbing & Electrical: perform basic repairs and maintenance.
• Material Movement: move materials and equipment between rooms.
• Emergency Response: be available to respond to emergencies.
• Supervision: work under the Director of Maintenance.
• Hands-on mechanical work: troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment.

Job description

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Tech to join our team! If you have general maintenance knowledge, including mechanical, electrical and plumbing experience, and a strong work ethic, we would love to hear from you.

Strong Mechanical experience is required for this role.

Pay Rate: $26.79 per hour

Schedule: Full-time with rotating weekends

Key Responsibilities:

• General Maintenance Tasks: Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the facility, including painting resident rooms and other areas.
• Plumbing & Electrical: Perform basic plumbing and electrical repairs and maintenance as needed.
• Material Movement: Move materials and equipment between rooms and different areas of the facility as necessary.
• Emergency Response: Be available to respond to emergency maintenance issues as needed.
• Supervision: Work under the supervision of the Director of Maintenance to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
• Hands-on mechanical experience, including troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment.

Qualifications:

• Experience: General maintenance knowledge, including experience with plumbing and electrical systems.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move at least 50 to 100 lbs.
• Work Schedule: Must be available to work one weekend per month.
• Team Player: Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
• Regulatory Compliance: Must meet the requirements of the Department of Health.
• Emergency Response: Willingness to respond to emergency calls as required.
