Job summary

Leisure Chateau in Lakewood Township, NJ is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to perform standard maintenance tasks across facility grounds and buildings. The role supports the Maintenance Director and helps keep spaces safe, clean and well‑functioning.

This position offers a competitive hourly rate ($19–$21) with both full‑time and part‑time options, benefits, and opportunities for on‑site overtime. Strong practical skills in wiring, plumbing and carpentry are valued.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.
• Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with and follows directions from the Maintenance Director.
• Maintains building and grounds in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
• Maintains and repairs basic functions of the facility as determined by the Maintenance Director.
• Takes care of the tools and equipment.
• Makes minor repairs on handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkling systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers, changes filters on HVAC equipment, carries, lifts and stocks supplies.
• Remains on call, when assigned, for 24 hours a day.
• Assumes supervisor’s responsibilities in his/her absence.
• Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights.
• Performs other duties as requested.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Worker provides a variety of standard and unskilled tasks in the maintenance and repair of facility grounds and facilities.

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/ VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
