Job summary

Refresco in Missouri Heights, USA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to service beverage manufacturing equipment. You will perform scheduled, unscheduled and preventive maintenance across hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, conveyors and PLCs to keep production running smoothly.

You will follow GMP and food safety standards, document work orders, train others, and communicate across shifts to minimize downtime while ensuring quality and safety in a fast-paced plant.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years maintenance experience in manufacturing preferred.
• Must read engineering drawings and parts manuals.
• Ability to work with little supervision.
• Forklift certification required.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to GMPs, safety policies, and PPE requirements.
• Perform preventive, scheduled, unscheduled maintenance, and line changeovers.
• Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
• Maintain and document work orders and part usage.
• Train and assist other maintenance staff.

Contractual hourly wage rate is $33.50 per hour- additional $.20 per hour 2 nd and 3 rd shift allowance.

Summary Description:

· Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for the scheduled, unscheduled and preventative maintenance and repair of a wide variety of beverage manufacturing and packaging equipment requiring a strong mechanical skills base to include hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, conveyor systems and PLC usage. Completes all work allocated to a high standard having the ability to complete all maintenance tasks across the installed asset base. Regularly observes and discuss equipment performance and make recommendations for activities to improve this. Promotes and supports the company quality & safety standards, focusing on continuous improvement.

Essential Job Functions:

• · Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the warehouse or production areas (including but not limited to hairnets/beard nets, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard toe and slip/oil resistant shoes, appropriate safety gloves, and seatbelts while operating forklifts).
• · Responsible to adhere to food quality and food safety as per the standard(s) provided by corporate, customer, and/or governing bodies (ex. SQF).
• · Report problems with the FSMS to responsible managerial employees to initiate corrective actions.
• · Ability to perform and complete repair maintenance, preventive maintenance, and line changeovers.
• · Able to troubleshoot machinery for malfunctions (electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, & pneumatic).
• · Able to perform maintenance on all production supporting equipment (i.e. glycol system, RO system, Compressed Air system, lubrication systems, chemical distribution systems).
• · Use innovative thinking when troubleshooting equipment in order to minimize production downtime, assure food safety, product quality and personnel safety.
• · Complete, document, and retrieve final approvals on all assigned work orders to include recording all utilized part numbers for inventory purposes.
• · Communicate effectively and completely all relevant maintenance and production related information from shift to relieving shift.
• · Assist in training other maintenance personnel.
• · Communicate with production during periods of downtime.
• · Work collaboratively with all adjacent teams to resolve issues rapidly and drive improvement.

Education and Experience:

• · High school degree or equivalent.
• · Minimum 2 years previous maintenance experience in manufacturing preferred.

Working Conditions:

• · Work Schedule: Weekdays, weekends, afternoon, evening, and overnight may be required. Overtime scheduled as needed.
• · Work Environment: Operating in a fast-paced production plant with numerous moving parts. Noise levels require hearing protection and temperatures can get very hot and/or relatively cold). The environment is structured and supervised.
