Job summary

Southern Healthcare Management is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support facility systems, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot mechanical issues. You will use CMMS to track work orders, read manuals and schematics, and supervise contractors on maintenance projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of facilities maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude.
• Experience with electrical systems and logic controllers.
• Proficient reading of manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Basic welding skills preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and teamwork.
• Ability to supervise contractors and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintenance and repair of facility equipment and systems.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues.

Qualifications for a Maintenance Assistant:

• Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude
• Experience with facilities maintenance and repair
• Familiarity with logic controllers and electrical systems
• Proficient in English, both written and verbal
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
• Basic welding skills preferred
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Leadership skills to supervise contractors and vendors during maintenance projects

Qualifications

Minimum high school diploma, equivalent, or at least one (1) year physical plant and equipment experience. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENT May be required to respond to critical issues on a 24/7 basis. Employee may be required to sit, bend, stoop, see, talk and hear. May occasionally lift medium to heavy objects. Employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
