Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to diagnose, repair and maintain mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems on all plant equipment. The role emphasizes reducing downtime and enhancing productivity while following safety policies and lock-out/tag-out procedures.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in industrial maintenance, experience with PLC systems, and the ability to work varied shifts.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of Industrial Maintenance experience.
• Experience repairing mechanical, electrical (AC/DC), hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Capable of working with drawings and schematics.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Up to 100 paid training hours annually for technicians to advance through the progressive skill levels and achieve higher pay.

Technicians supply their own basic hand tools. PCA provides a tool stipend (or replacement) to help technicians maintain basic hand tools. PCA provides all special and heavy tools.

Stipend for safety shoes, safety glasses and tools.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform a variety of maintenance tasks to diagnose, repair, rebuild, replace mechanical, electrical, PLC, hydraulic and pneumatic systems on all plant equipment and facilities.

Use maintenance knowledge to increase productivity, decrease downtime and waste.

Work with a sense of urgency to respond to machine downtime events.

Will be required to complete in-house training programs to develop equipment specific maintenance skills.The position may also require attendance at external training that may require occasional overnight travel.

Must be able to follow all safety and company policies that include lock-out tag-out procedures.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

At least 3 years of Industrial Maintenance experience successfully troubleshooting and repairing industrial manufacturing equipment.

Must have knowledge and experience with repairing and maintaining mechanical, electrical (AC and DC), hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC systems and industrial equipment and drawings.

Be passionate about maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

Ability to work any shift, overtime, and weekends as needed.

Must have own basic tools

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Technical degree and/or comparable experiencein successfully troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery and equipment; particularly within the corrugated or packaging industry.

Pay depending on experience.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Starting salary for position: $23.46 - $25.94per hour.
• Bonus: Annual – Based upon achievement of plant performance metrics.
• Paid Vacation: 2weeks per calendar year. Pro-rata Vacation during the initial year of hire based upon start date within the calendar year.
• Paid Holidays.
