Job summary

Continental-Management-LL in Detroit, MI is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to perform electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and custodial tasks across the apartment community. You will assist with grounds, move-in/move-out inspections, and respond to work orders while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience performing general electrical repairs on appliances, fixtures, switches, and outlets.
• Experience in general plumbing repairs, stoppages, and fittings.
• Skills in carpentry, shelving, doors, windows, and replacing fixtures.
• Ability to paint interior and exterior areas as needed.
• Experience with custodial tasks and grounds maintenance.
• Familiar with maintenance work orders and prioritization (standby schedule).
• Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform general electrical repairs on appliances, fixtures, switches, and outlets.
• Perform general plumbing work including clearing stoppages and replacing fittings.
• Replace broken glass, tiles, carpets, screens, fixtures, appliances, locks.
• Paint interior and exterior areas as required.
• Carry out carpentry tasks such as doors, windows, shelves.
• Assist with custodial tasks and grounds maintenance.
• Participate in standby emergency coverage evenings, weekends, holidays.
• Assist with work orders and refurbishing vacant apartments.
• Periodically inspect units, buildings and common areas.

A full-time maintenance technician position is available at an apartment community in Detroit, MI.The Maintenance Technician is directly responsible for:Performing general electrical repairs on items such as appliances, fixtures, switches, outlets, circuits, etc.Perform general plumbing work, such as clearing stoppages, replacing fittings, etc. Replace broken glass, tile, carpet, screens, garbage disposals, fixtures, appliances, locks, etc.Paint - interior and exterior areas, as required.Perform carpentry work, such as fitting doors, freeing windows, replacing and building shelves, etc.Assist in custodial work, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, cleaning windows, in common areas, etc.Assist with grounds work when necessary.Participate in a standby emergency schedule for evening, weekend, and holiday coverage.Assist in stock control and utilization of maintenance materials.Assist in completion of work order requests and adhere to maintenance priorities.Assist in refurbishing vacant apartments.Periodically inspect all units, buildings and common areas, performing repairs and janitorial assistance as needed.Assist in apartment move-in and move-out inspections as directed.Valid Driver's License.Continental Management offers a competitive wage and benefit package: medical, dental, vision plan, 401K, vacation time, and paid medical leave.
