Job summary

Abacus Solution Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Charleston, SC for a direct-hire role with first-shift hours 7am-4pm, Monday through Friday. The position pays $28-$35 per hour, with overtime opportunities and benefits.

You will perform routine maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, diagnose malfunctions, read blueprints, and help install new equipment. Industrial HVAC repair experience is a must, and OSHA standards must be followed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical certification preferred.
• Experience in industrial maintenance in manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Basic understanding of PLC troubleshooting; advanced knowledge preferred.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic instruments.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions using manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
• Repair or replace defective parts such as motors, belts, bearings, valves, and sensors.
• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections to minimize downtime.
• Install and set up new machinery and production equipment.

• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation.
• Follow safety procedures and comply with OSHA and company safety standards.
• Assist with continuous improvement and equipment upgrades.
• Work with production teams to quickly resolve breakdowns.
• Industrial HVAC repair experience a must.
