A leading manufacturing company in Athens, Alabama is seeking a Maintenance Technician responsible for maintaining plant machinery in working order. Candidates should possess over a year of hands-on industrial maintenance experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Proficient use of fabrication tools is required. This role demands a strong ability to troubleshoot, work independently, and adhere to safety protocols. Flexible working hours, including nights and weekends are expected.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Ability to work independently with little direction.
• Some Spanish language skills are a plus.

Job description

Position Summary

TheMaintenance Techis responsible formaintainingthe plant machinery inworking order.

Essential Job Functions/Duties

• Read / understand operating manuals for plant machinery (steam gen, air comp, wire rollers)
• Interpret parts manuals for purchasing
• Identify / troubleshoot electricalfaults in equipment and building
• Identify / troubleshoot mechanical,pneumaticand hydraulic problems
• Utilize diagnostic equipment (meters), and hand tools
• Be proficient with fabrication tools (welding, oxy/acetyl torch)
• Repair plant equipment (steel forms, machinery, and building)
• Meet safety and housekeeping policy and procedures

Required Qualifications

• 1+year(s)industrial maintenance (mechanical, hydraulics, electrical, fabrication, pneumatic)
• Some technical training / certifications
• Must work well independently with little direction
• Intermediate mathematicskills
• English –some Spanish is a plus

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

• Exposed tohigh levelsof concrete dust
• Work outdoors but may on occasion work indoors. Temperatures may vary due to weather
• Regularly wear protective attire, such as hard hats and steel-toe boots
• Exposed to sound and noise levels that are distracting and uncomfortable
• Work in extremely bright or very dim lighting conditions
• Mon – Fri (weekends when needed)
• 50 -60 hours/week
• Possible nightshift
