• Deep technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including PLCs, motor controls, and automation.
• Familiarity with Lean principles (ELS), OSHA PSM, ISO 9000 procedures, and strong computer proficiency in MS Office, Google Platform, and CMMS (such as Agility or MP2).

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance team at the Painesville, OH facility and direct maintenance technicians and engineering staff.
• Plan and direct activities to resolve safety, quality, and production issues, focusing on Safety, Reliability,PM, and Continuous Improvement.
• Oversee three shifts with coaching, training, and regular feedback via the Global Performance Management System.
• Implement TPM, 5S, and preventive maintenance schedules; manage CMMS work orders and spare parts inventory.
• Build strategic relationships with maintenance peers across Avery Dennison and external suppliers to optimize service contracts.

About the role:

Avery Dennison is seeking a Maintenance Team Manager to lead our Painesville, Ohio Films Facility. In this role, you will plan and direct the activities of the maintenance team, providing critical manufacturing support to resolve safety, quality, and production issues. You will serve as a grounded leader and change-agent, providing direction to maintenance technicians and technical staff with a dedicated focus on Safety, Reliability, Planned and Predictive Maintenance, and Continuous Improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

This position is an on-site role located at our facility in Painesville, OH. Primary hours are approximately 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday but ultimately overseeing all three shifts.

Promote safety as the primary value by leading monthly safety meetings, daily huddles, and ensuring the Mechanical Integrity Program complies with OSHA PSM guidelines.

Build and develop a high-performing, diverse team by providing coaching, training, and regular feedback through the Global Performance Management System while managing work schedules and driving accountability for results.

Lead the implementation of TPM, 5S, and preventive maintenance schedules to lessen downtime, while managing the CMMS work order system and spare parts inventory to minimize operating costs.

Forge strategic relationships with maintenance peers across the Avery Dennison network and partner with outside suppliers to optimize service contracts and equipment longevity.

Assist with capital projects, facility modifications, and provide technical guidance for process stability, capacity utilization, and waste reduction.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable field (e.g., Engineering).

6+ years of operational experience required, with 3–5 years of demonstrated success in a plant maintenance or engineering leadership role.

Deep technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including PLCs, motor controls, and automation.

Proven leadership competencies to Display Agility, Champion Collaboration, and Deliver Results, with demonstrated skill in resolving conflicts.

Familiarity with Lean principles (ELS), OSHA PSM, ISO 9000 procedures, and strong computer proficiency in MS Office, Google Platform, and CMMS (such as Agility or MP2).

Pay Transparency:

The salary range for this position is $73,300 - $112,448 / year. The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
