Job summary

ASR Group in Louisiana is seeking a Maintenance Team Manager to provide technical leadership and coordinate the maintenance department to improve equipment reliability at the lowest sustainable cost. You will develop predictive and preventive maintenance programs, supervise 8+ maintenance supervisors and 60+ hourly staff, and drive safety, reliability, quality and continuous improvement across the site.

The job requires 5+ years in maintenance or operations management and a Bachelor’s degree

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years in maintenance, engineering, or operations management/supervision.
  • Experience in supervision within a union environment preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; strong business acumen and leadership skills.

  • Periodically evaluate program effectiveness and adjust for optimum reliability/cost.
  • Evaluate performance and provide feedback and growth opportunities.

OVERVIEW

The function of the MaintenanceTeam Manageris to provide necessary technical support and leadership, to direct, facilitate, and coordinate the performance, development, and improvement of the maintenance department. The Team Manager will also establish a capable, continuously improving, high quality maintenance work force with focus on improving plant equipment reliability at the lowest sustainable cost.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for the management of all maintenance related activities at the site
  • Actively participates in the safety programs to improve, promote and enforce safety procedures and policies.
  • Directs and manages the Maintenance resources to meet and exceed all safety, health and environmental regulations.
  • Develops and empowers employees.
  • Initiates root cause analysis of equipment/machinery failures and develops suitable repair solutions or PM plan to reduce and/or possibly eliminate reoccurrence of failure.
  • Ensures the development of sound predictive and preventative maintenance programs which will reduce unplanned shutdowns and continuously improve plant reliability, profitability and product quality.
  • Implements change management, best practices, and standardization of work processes in the area of responsibility.
  • Periodically evaluates program's effectiveness and modify accordingly to insure optimum reliability/cost benefits are maintained.
  • Evaluates personnel performance levels, as necessary, to provide feedback on performance and discuss possible areas for improvement and/or growth opportunities.
  • Promotes an atmosphere of team spirit through good example, open communication, good listening, and timely problem resolutions.
WORK EXPERIENCES
  • A minimum of 5 years in maintenance, engineering, or operations management/supervision is required.
  • Previous supervisory experience in a union environment is preferred.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
  • The Team Manager is responsible for monitoring the performance, development, and training for the maintenance staff of 8+ supervisors and 60+ hourly associates.
  • Strong leadership abilities coupled with excellent broad based technical skills and good business acumen
  • Strong organizational, planning, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Track record of success in Safety, Reliability, Quality, and employee involvement and an ability to promote/develop maintenance excellence is desired
  • Ability to earn credibility and respect across the organization is important.
  • Willingness and ability to work hours in a 24/7 operation as needed to meet business demands, required.
  • Must be available to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed.
