Job summary

Zing Recruiting in partnership with a Tier 1 automotive supplier in McCalla, AL, is seeking an Assembly Maintenance Team Leader to join their team. This hands-on maintenance role leads a team on high-volume assembly lines, troubleshooting and performing preventive maintenance to maximize uptime.

Shifts run 2nd (5:30 PM – 5:30 AM) with overtime as needed. Strong knowledge of automation equipment and leadership experience are valued for success in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of assembly equipment and automation systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and automation issues.
• Experience leading or mentoring a maintenance team.
• Willingness to work 2nd shift (5:30 PM–5:30 AM) and OT as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead and work with a maintenance team to ensure equipment uptime.
• Troubleshoot, repair and perform preventive maintenance on assembly equipment.
• Train and develop maintenance team members on-the-job and via formal instruction.
• Maintain safety, quality and production priorities; support 5S initiatives.
• Respond to breakdowns, complete work orders and schedule downtime.
• Communicate issues to leadership and assist with maintenance planning.

Zing Recruiting, in partnership with a Tier 1 automotive supplier in McCalla, AL, is seeking an Assembly Maintenance Team Leader to join their team! This is a great opportunity for a hands-on maintenance professional with leadership experience to join a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment supporting high-volume production.

Maintenance Team Leader Job Summary

• Pay: $23.00 – $37.00 per hour (based on experience; top-out rate for highly qualified candidates)
• Shift: 2nd Shift | Monday – Friday | 5:30 PM – 5:30 AM | Overtime as needed
• Lead and work alongside a maintenance team supporting production equipment uptime and performance
• Perform troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on assembly equipment
• Support production by ensuring equipment is operating safely and efficiently
• Train and develop maintenance team members through on-the-job and formal instruction
• Maintain awareness of plant safety, quality, and production priorities
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and complete assigned work orders and preventive maintenance tasks
• Follow and support 5S, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Communicate equipment issues and unresolved concerns to leadership in a timely manner
• Support maintenance planning for downtime, weekends, and scheduled repairs

Maintenance Team Leader Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of assembly and automation equipment, including:
  • Fanuc Robotics
  • Allen-Bradley ControlLogix PLC systems
  • Technifor engraving systems
  • Nordson sealing/dispensing systems
• Strong understanding of assembly manufacturing processes
• Solid troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, and automation systems
• Ability to weld, machine, and fabricate using CAD drawings or hand sketches
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and apply quality procedures consistently
• Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills
• Must have a strong attendance record (no disciplinary actions or unexcused absences within the past 12 months)
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
• Previous leadership or team lead experience is a plus
